Adoro a praia assim, sem a confusão da época balnear. Continuamos com tempo agradável o que torna esta paisagem ainda mais apetecível. Temos lá dado um saltinho todos os fins-de-semana. Dá para escrever, respirar fundo, correr, brincar e a M. até fez um novo amiguinho de quatro patas!
I love the beach like this, without the confusion of the bathing season. We still have pleasent weather which makes this landscape even more attractive. We've beem going there all weekends. It's good for writing, breathing, run, play and M. even made a little four feet new friend!

principezinho # little prince

Ainda em pesquisa para o novo conto de que vos falei aqui, terminei de ler "O Principezinho" (de Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, Editorial Presença). Era daquelas obras que me têm escapado ao longo dos anos. Desde sempre que me lembro de pegar nele nas feiras do livro em Lisboa, nas livrarias, e acabava sempre por lá ficar preterido a outros títulos, por me achar demasiado crescida para ele. Pensava erradamente que era apenas um conto infantil.
Finalmente, e a propósito das ideias que me inspiraram para este novo conto (um desenho da M. e uma letra de música), resolvi lê-lo. Tarefa para a qual contribuiu o meu lindíssimo marcados oferecido pela Ana. Still in research for the new story that you told you about in here, I finished reading "The Little Prince" (by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, Editorial Presença). It was of those books that I have been missing over the years. Ever since I remember I took this book in my hands at the book fair in Lisbon, in bookstores, and I've always chosen other titles, because I felt too grown up for it. I wrongly thought that it was just a childhood story.
Finally, and because of the ideas that have inspired me for this new story (an M.'s drawing and a song lirics), I decided to read it. Task for which contributed my beautiful book marker offered by Ana.

A pouco e pouco, também a mim este pequeno príncipe emocionou! Cativou-me mesmo com a sua prosa poética e a sua simplicidade no olhar o mundo e as pessoas. Como sabem simples não é sinónimo de simplório! Little by little, this little prince moved me! Really captivate myself with his poetic prose and its simplicity in looking at the world and the people. You know simple is not synonymous of poor!

No final chorei e purifiquei a alma. Recuperei um pouco da paz que me tem faltado ultimamente e que para isso tem contribuído também muito a música que voltou a estar mais presente na minha vida e que oportunamente vou falarei mais acerca disso. Para já fiquem com esta dica: tenham que idade tiverem, se tiverem sensibilidade suficiente para isso, não deixem de ler ou reler "O Principezinho". Esta boca da sensibilidade é para quem já me disse que este livro é uma tremenda seca!... ;-) At the end I cried and purifiquei my soul. I Recouvered a bit of the peace that I have missed lately and that for this has also contributed much the music, once again more present in my life and about that I will talk more in a while. For now I leave you with this hint: no matter what age you are, if you have enough sensibility for it, don't miss reading or re-reading "The Little Prince." This provocation on sensibility is for the one that told me that this book is a tremendous bore!... ;-)

Another pair of pants for M., which I painted after having swore not to do so again. But the will to paint talked higher. And she promised not to spoil my work again. Painting in tile. It is a caricature that I did in 2001 for the anniversary of a great friend, the same whom I offered that brooch (pin).
And yet on this post, you know what M. said when she saw the photo?

O último livro que destaco desta colecção é o 18º volume, dedicado ao Paço Ducal de Vila Viçosa. Adoro estas colagens do João Almeida que o ilustram. Adoro as texturas a fazerem-me lembrar estas da Ana Ventura que também são maravilhosas.

The last book that I highlight of this collection is the 18th volume, dedicated to Paço Ducal of Vila Viçosa. I love these collages of João Almeida which illustrate the book. I love the textures that make me remember these Ana Ventura's which are also wonderful.

Mais um volume da tal colecção. Este é o nº11 e é dedicado à Torre de Belém! É uma história lindíssima, onde há uma história dentro de outra história, dá ideias para as famílias ocuparem os tempos livres com imaginação e muito prazer e tem ilustrações, mais uma vez, bem originais! Este livro levou-me de volta ao meus 12º ano de Belas Artes (depois de ter desistido do de Arquitectura - e como me arrependo hoje!!! :( ). Lembro-me das maquetas que fazia e o prazer que me dava fazê-las. Bem, pensando agora melhor, deve ter sido em Arquitectura mesmo! :oS Esta memória já não é o que era!!! Mas voltando às ilustrações, são de Zévi e são fotos de esculturas feitas com materiais usados. 100% reciclagem! Quanto mais não fosse por isso valeria estar no meu Top 6. E depois é uma história de amor! Adoro histórias de amor para crianças. Sim, porque as crianças entendem histórias de amor e gostam! Até os meninos podem ser românticos! Eu estou agora a escrever uma que ainda vai a meio. Vamos lá a ver se sai como eu quero! Mas esta história é sobre um pirata que se torna melhor pessoa por se apaixonar! Não é lindo?...

Another volume of this collection. This is the 11th and is dedicated to Torre de Belém! It is a beautiful story, where there is a story within another story, gives ideas for families to occupy their leisure time with imagination and great pleasure and has illustrations, once again, very original! This book took me back to my 12th year in school of Arts (after having left Architecture - and how I regret it today!!! :( ). I remember the models that I did and the pleased that I was doing it. Well, now thinking better, should have been in Architecture! :oS My memory is not what it used to be!!! But returning to the illustrations, theu are Zévi's and are pictures of sculptures made from used materials. 100% recycling! If not for anything more it would diserve to be in my Top 6. And then it is a love story! I love romances for children. Yes, because children understand love stories and like it! Even the little boys can be romantic! I am now writing one that is only half done. Let's see if it ends as I want! But this story is about a pirate who becomes a better person because he falls in love! Isn't it beautiful?...

Estas marionetas fizerem-me escolher também o oitavo volume da colecção para vos mostrar. As ilustrações são de Bay Taylor e são fotos de marionetas no magnífico cenário real do Mosteiro da Batalha (fotos 360º). Muito engraçada a ideia e estimula a imaginação da pequenada para fazerem experiências do género.

These puppets made me choose also the eighth volume of the collection to show you. The illustrations are by Bay Taylor and are pictures of puppets in the magnificent scenery of Batalha's Monastery (360º photos). Very funny the idea and stimulates the imagination of the little ones to do experiments of this kind.

Number 7 of the collection is about the beautiful Pena's Palace in Sintra. And I had to choose this as one of my favorite books of the series "Once Upon a time a Wonder..." because of these magnificent naif illustrations by Marta Moreira. Aren't they fantastic? It is certainly one of M.'s favorites.

Este é o segundo livro que destaco desta colecção. É o número 5 e é dedicado ao Convento de Cristo em Tomar (vejam aqui fotos a 360º). Adoro as aguarelas do André Laranjinha que o ilustram.
Mais pormenores desta colecção que me agradaram e que ainda não vos disse são o CD com a história contada (ora pela Cristina Cavalinhos ora pelo Miguel Guilherme, que são excelentes) e uns passatempos sempre no final de cada livro que nos dão ainda mais a conhecer a história da maravilha em causa.
Eu não costumo fazer colecções, isso é mais o departamento do maridão! Ele é que é do género de comprar um livro e se gosta tem que comprar tudo o que o autor publicou, mesmo que por vezes o estilo seja completamente diferente e nem lhe agrade particularmente. Bem, é uma "nóia" como outra qualquer! Cada maluco com a sua "pancada", não é ?!... Mas eu rendi-me a esta colecção, pela qualidade que nem sempre é um denominador comum nas obras para crianças. Hoje em dia há já muita variedade de coisas nesta área, mas infelizmente, na maioria dos casos, a qualidade não impera!

This is the second book that I choose from this collection. It is the number 5 and is dedicated to the Convent of Christ in Tomar (see here 360º photos). I love the watercolors of André Laranjinha that illustrate this story.
More details of this collection that I like and that I haven't told you about is the CD with the story told (by sometimes Cristina Cavalinhos or other times Miguel Guilherme, which are excellent) and some questions always at the end of each book who teach us even more about the history of the wonder in each case.
I do not usually make collections, it is the department of my husband! He is the gender of buying a book and if he likes it he has to buy everything that the author published, even if sometimes the style is completely different and he does not like it particularly. Well, it is a crazyness as any other! But I surrendered to this collection because of its quality that is not always so common in children's books. Today, there is already much variety of things in this area, but unfortunately, in most cases, the quality does not rule!

Já há muito que estava a dever este post. E só não o fiz há mais tempo por preguiça! É que considero que este tema me merece muita dedicação e não tenho tido o tempo suficiente para isso. É por essa razão que irei dividi-lo em 6 partes, cada uma dedicada a um dos livros que mais admiro nesta colecção. # I've promissed to make this post a long time ago. And I didn't do it before only for laziness! Because I think that this issue deserves a lot of dedication and I haven't had the time to do it. That is why I will divide it into 6 parts, each devoted to one of the books that I most admire in this collection.
Para começar, acho a ideia de escrever uma história em torno de um monumento e recheá-la com pormenores históricos uma delícia. É uma forma fantástica de ensinar história aos mais pequenos e aos graúdos também. Aprendi imenso com toda a colecção! # To begin, I think the idea of writing a story about a monument and fill it with historical details is delicious. It is a wonderful way to teach history to kids and grownups too. I learned a lot with the entire collection!
Escolhi seis livros da colecção unicamente por questões estéticas. São os que eu gostei mais e achei mais apelativos para as crianças, se bem que considero todos muito válidos, pois acho que devemos pôr as nossas crianças em contacto com vários estilos para que possam formar o seu gosto pessoal. # I've chosen six books of this collection only for an aesthetic reason. These are which I liked the most and found more appealing to children, although all of them are very good because I think that we should show our children various styles so that they can form their taste.

Os roedores cá de casa! # The rodents in our house!

Já jurei mil vezes que não volto a decorar roupas para a M.. Sabem qual a última dela??... Agora destrói tudo o que lhe faço. Eu sei que não é para destruir o que tanto trabalho me dá a fazer e onde ponho tanto carinho e empenho! Mas parte-me o coração ver as coisas vandalizadas! Clicando nas imagens verão como eram originalmente, antes de serem atacadas pela M..
Noto que ela tem preferência pelas tintas aborrachadas, pois a "Dora a Exploradora" (que é industrial) também é feita com uma tinta semelhante e como tal também não lhe escapou aos ímpetos roedores.
Passámos a ter dois roedores cá em casa: a M. e a Palmira! LOL

I've already swore a thousand times that I wouldn't decorate clothes for M. anymore. Do you know the last she did??... Now she destroys everything I do. I know that is not just to destroy what gives me so much work to do and where I put as much love and commitment! But it breaks my heart to see them destroyed! I note that she preferes rubber paint, because "Dora the Exploradora" (which is industrial) which is also made with a similar ink and it also did not escape M.'s rodents wishes.

rabiscos # scratching

Há dias em que pouco falta para me enlouquecer! Este foi o dia dos rabiscos!!!
A M. resolveu, em vez de arrumar o quarto como lhe havia pedido, riscar tudo o que lhe aparecia pela frente. Só tenho duas fotos para testemunhar o acontecido, pois no meio da fúria desatei a limpar tudo o mais depressa que pude para que não se transformassem em rabiscos de carácter definitivo e só depois, bem mais calma, achei alguma graça à fralda decorada (não sei até que ponto tenho alguma culpa nisto!) e por fim descobri a secretária toda riscada.
Já sabemos que arrumação não é o seu "forte", mas não era preciso deixá-lo tão claro!!! Já percebemos a mensagem!

We already know that cleaning up is not her "best talent", but it wasn't necessary to show it so strongly!!! We got the message!
